Zwaluw

Day-care centre Zwaluw is part of Kindcentrum de Zwaluw at Boerenzwaluw 19 in Veenendaal. We run two vertical groups for children aged 0 to 4. Our setting feels like home, offering structure and security. Every child is free to be themselves and is given space to grow at their own pace. Our pedagogical approach follows Emmi Pikler’s vision: the child is central and discovers as much as possible independently. We use the Uk & Puk programme. Through recognisable themes and age-appropriate activities children develop new skills—reading aloud, singing, drawing, clay work and playing together in the garden. Activities match the current theme and the age and interests of the children. Day-care centre Zwaluw has its own outdoor play area and a shared play room. We work closely with the toddler group (2-4 years) located in the same building. We also regularly join activities of the primary schools within Kindcentrum de Zwaluw, such as reading days and the Sinterklaas celebration. This gives children a continuous line from 0 to 13 years within one familiar environment. We believe it is important that parents and children feel at home quickly.
