Zonnewijzer

Kindcentrum de Zonnewijzer is located in the Grote Waal district of Hoorn, right next to the Grote Beer shopping centre. Our toddler group provides care for children aged 2 to 4 and prepares them for primary school. We use a clear horizontal group structure, bringing children together in age-based groups. At the Zonnewijzer toddler group we implement Early Childhood Education (VVE). This programme focuses on language development and other key developmental areas that ensure a smooth transition into primary education. We offer our activities Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. During school holidays the toddler group is closed, aligning our schedule with the primary-school year. Our location at Grote Beer 3 is small-scale: we have room for a maximum of 16 children. This limited size creates a calm and manageable environment, ensuring every child receives the attention they deserve. We operate on half-day sessions only, which many parents find easy to combine with other daily arrangements or additional childcare. We are part of Stichting Kinderopvang West-Friesland and link seamlessly to De Zonnewijzer primary school. This creates a familiar setting where children can move smoothly into Year 1.
