Zonnestraal, Christelijk Reformatorisch Kinderdagverblijf

Welcome to KDV Zonnestraal, our Christian-Reformed daycare centre at Arnelaan 57 in Middelburg. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 in one vertical group, where siblings and friends of different ages play and learn together. The centre is located in a quiet street near a park and shops, and features a challenging garden full of opportunities for discovery. Our bright, calm space is designed at child height. Each morning begins with a predictable routine: we sing the welcome song, talk about the weather and start the day. During play we focus on language development by naming objects, reading picture books and singing songs. Creative activities such as drawing, crafting and sand and water play are offered regularly, and we encourage natural curiosity through outdoor play in our garden. For the youngest children we have separate sleeping rooms with cribs and blackout curtains, allowing each child to rest individually. We change nappies and feed on request from parents; bottle feeding, fruit and bread meals are included. Our qualified staff know every child personally and follow the principle “do it yourself”: we offer help when needed, yet give space to discover and learn independently. Fixed drop-off and pick-up times provide calm and structure: drop-off is possible between 7.30-9.00 am and 12.30-1.15 pm, pick-up between 12.30-1.15 pm and 4.30-6.00 pm. Parents have access with a personal tag and are welcome to walk in at any time. When leaving, parents receive the child’s file so that development continues seamlessly to the next step.
