Zo op Klein Duimpje

Welcome to Zo op Klein Duimpje, our small-scale toddler care centre located at Julianastraat 1 in Poortvliet. As part of Zo Kinderopvang, we offer a trusted place where toddlers aged 2 to 4 discover and grow through play. In our cosy, well-equipped space we work with horizontal groups of up to sixteen children, guided by two regular pedagogical staff members. This fixed composition creates familiarity and calm, so your child quickly feels at home. Outdoor play is central to our approach. We use our own garden and the natural surroundings of Poortvliet to let the children spend plenty of time outside. While playing outdoors they learn about seasons, plants and animals and develop their gross motor skills. We sing together, read books and do crafts with various materials. Language stimulation receives a lot of attention: we read aloud, sing songs and talk with the children about what they experience. In this playful way they expand their vocabulary and learn to express themselves. Our activity programme is designed to support your child’s development in all areas. We work thematically and connect with the toddlers’ world of experience. Think of themes such as ‘autumn’, ‘animals’ or ‘traffic’. During these themes the children are offered various activities that match their interests and developmental level. We pay attention to social-emotional development by playing together, learning to share and taking each other into account. We use sustainable materials wherever possible and pay attention to the environment. Your child’s growth is central: we follow development and tailor our activities accordingly.
