Zo op de Scarpejaantjes

Welcome to Zo op de Scarpejaantjes, our day-care centre right in the heart of Scherpenisse, between the two primary schools on Watertorenstraat. We are part of Zo Kinderopvang and provide care for up to 14 children aged 2 to 4 years. Registered in the National Childcare Register since 2 March 2009, we organise children into horizontal groups so that every child is with peers of the same age, allowing us to offer developmentally appropriate activities. Pre-school education is the cornerstone of our programme. Four mornings a week (08:30 – 11:00) we use the Piramide curriculum to stimulate language, numeracy, motor skills and social-emotional development. All staff have completed certified training in pre-school education and work at least at level 3F for Oral Language and Reading. Each child is assigned a personal mentor who monitors well-being and progress closely. Our setting is small-scale and familiar: one stable group, never more than 14 children, with at least one qualified pre-school educator for every eight children. Daily routines and clear agreements give children the security they need to explore confidently. During circle time we plan the morning together; activities are designed to encourage co-operation, helping one another and sharing feelings. Parents follow every step through our parent app, so nothing of their child’s day is missed. We consciously create a green, healthy and sustainable environment where children learn about the world around them through play. Zo op de Scarpejaantjes is a warm, welcoming place where toddlers prepare for the big transition to primary school.
