Zo Outdoor BSO bij Ferguson

Welcome to Zo Outdoor BSO at Ferguson! We are an after-school care facility located at Muurbloemweg 41 in The Hague. As part of Zo Kinderopvang, we provide care for up to 51 children aged 4 to 12. Our location holds the Green Cement certification, which means we focus entirely on nature, outdoor play, and sustainability. Children at our BSO are active outdoors for at least 90 minutes every day – except during extreme weather conditions. We have a spacious, enclosed outdoor area where children can climb and play freely. We also regularly go on trips to the forest, the beach, or the neighborhood with litter pickers to raise awareness about sustainability. Child participation is central to our approach. Children can choose between two activities tailored to different age groups and can submit ideas via a suggestion box. They also help with tasks like handing out fruit, keeping time, and tidying up – making them feel involved in the group. We use BSO passports to track each child’s development and discuss progress with parents during handovers when needed. Our approach aligns fully with Zo’s vision: encouraging children to grow in and with nature. This includes learning about the seasons, discovering nature, and playing outdoors as much as possible.
