About this care
AI
Welcome to Zo op Gummarus, our welcoming after-school care centre located at Azaleastraat 18 in Steenbergen. We are part of Zo Kinderopvang Holding B.V. and provide care for up to 60 children aged 4 to 12. The centre works closely with Gummarus Primary School and other nearby schools, ensuring children can come to us safely right after classes end.
At Zo op Gummarus we organise children into three horizontal base groups: Sprinters (4–6 years), Steppers (6–8 years) and Skaters (8–11 years). Each group has its own room and is first offered a quiet moment after school to talk about the day. Afterwards, there is plenty of time for play, relaxation and challenging activities. Our pedagogical professionals are always ready with personal attention and a listening ear.
Sports and physical activity are high on our agenda. Our in-house sports coach runs a weekly sports programme in the school gym or outside on the playground. In summer we cool off with trips to the outdoor swimming pool (for children with a swimming certificate). We also make regular trips to the forest and organise creative and nature activities that match the children’s world of experience.
We believe it is important that children feel safe and secure. That is why we work with a permanent team, so there are always familiar faces. Our outdoor culture radiates calm and freedom: children are given trust and learn in a positive way to deal with boundaries. Together with parents, we provide a warm and safe environment in which every child can be themselves and grow.Read more
