Zeerovers PG

Welcome to Peutergroep Zeerovers, located in a classroom of public Archipelschool De Branding at Verkuijl Quakkelaarstraat 104 in Vlissingen. Our classroom sits just steps away from the lively city centre, the town hall and the beach. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 2 to 4 in a safe, homely environment. Everything we do is centred on learning through play. Inside you will find a play castle with an exciting home corner downstairs and a quiet upstairs area where children can play together with a pedagogical staff member. The room is divided into different developmental corners so every child can grow at his or her own pace. Our kitchen is regularly used for joint baking sessions of cookies or other treats. Outdoor play is an essential part of our daily experience. We use the kindergarten playground with its challenging sandpit and a climbing frame with slide. When the weather is nice we love to eat at the large picnic table under a protective parasol. We also make regular outings in the immediate surroundings: a quick grocery run to the supermarket or an exploratory walk through the neighbourhood. Music is a constant in our day. We sing songs at transition moments, such as the welcome song in the circle and the fruit song before eating. Children are allowed to choose which song is sung and sometimes we use musical instruments to make the experience even bigger. During birthdays the birthday child decides whether a birthday song is sung. We follow the pedagogical policy of Kinderopvang Walcheren and provide pre-school education (VE). Our pedagogical staff are always ready with attention, guidance and stimulation. We believe every child is unique and give room to make choices and discover new skills. Together we learn to interact with each other, resolve conflicts and give each other compliments. This way we not only build sandcastles, but also first friendships.
