Welcome to Yes! Kinderopvang Gerard Alewijnstraat, our daycare centre in the heart of Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht. We provide care for 73 children aged 0 to 4 in a homely and secure environment. Our location is part of Yes! Kinderopvang, an organisation that has stood for committed, contemporary childcare with a warm heart for both child and parent for over 30 years. Everything we do revolves around your child’s development. We work with small-scale groups and use a horizontal group structure: babies (0-1 year) in the Beebies, toddlers (1-2 years) in the Ukkies and pre-schoolers (2-4 years) in the Pukkies. Each group has its own dedicated pedagogical staff who recognise, understand and challenge your child individually. We use the Kijk! observation tool to track each child’s development and tailor our activities accordingly. Our spacious, bright group rooms are furnished with natural materials and invite play and discovery. We have a secure inner courtyard and a challenging outdoor play area where children can run, climb and romp. Each group has a separate sleeping room with cots and beds, so your child can rest in a familiar environment. We offer a wide and varied range of activities: from arts and crafts and story time to singing and dancing. Language development receives special attention: we name what we see, read books aloud and encourage children to use words. We also work with themes that connect to the children’s world, such as seasons, animals and transport. Care and nutrition are included. We provide free nappies, wipes and formula according to your preferred brand. For older children we serve healthy snacks and fruit. If your child has an allergy or dietary requirement, we are happy to accommodate. Safety and trust are paramount. Our location is equipped with a code lock and we apply the four-eyes principle: there is always a colleague or parent nearby who can keep an eye out. Parents are welcome to help with activities or simply drop in for a chat. We value good communication with parents. At drop-off and pick-up we take time for a personal conversation. Our parent committee actively contributes to policy and activities. Together we create a place where your child feels safe and happy.
