Welcome to Wiedewei Maasdam, our green childcare centre at Merwedestraat 58 in the heart of Maasdam. As part of Kibeo we provide day care for children aged 0 to 4 in a natural and sustainable setting. Everything we do revolves around discovering, playing and growing while respecting nature. Our baby group is led by specially trained baby specialists who recognise every signal from your child and respond immediately. The rooms are quietly furnished so your baby feels safe and secure. We follow the home rhythm as much as possible and provide bottle feeding tailored to your child’s needs. At lunchtime the youngest sleep in a separate bedroom with cots and blackout blinds. Toddlers and pre-schoolers join our toddler groups. We work with horizontal age groups so your child plays with peers. Outside there is a challenging playground with natural materials, a vegetable planter where children sow, care for and harvest their own vegetables, and plenty of space to run, climb and romp. Inside you will find wooden blocks, soft cushions and open-ended play materials that spark imagination. We sing songs, read from our library and stimulate language development through storytelling. Sustainability is not an afterthought for us. We use natural materials wherever possible, separate waste and focus on the seasons and local wildlife. Every day a warm, healthy meal is served, prepared with fresh ingredients. Does your child have an allergy or dietary requirement? Our cook will of course take this into account.
