Westervriend

BSO Westervriend is the cosiest after-school care facility in the Korte Akkeren district, located in the Westerschool at Jacob van Lennepkade 2 in Gouda. We are part of Quadrant Kindercentra, a childcare organization active in Gouda and its surroundings. Because all children play together in one group, everyone knows each other and we learn a lot from one another. Our BSO is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday after school until 18:30. On Wednesday from 11:30 to 18:30, care is provided at the Westervriend dependance located on the upper floor of childcare center de Petteflet on Lethmaetstraat. From Monday to Friday, children can also come to us before school from 7:00 AM. We have our own cozy, homely space with a kitchen and bar where cooking activities are regularly organized. There is plenty of play material such as a shop corner, doll area, Playmobil, building blocks and craft supplies. The gym is used intensively and outdoors we play on the kindergarten playground with sandbox and play equipment. Older children are also allowed to use the rest of the school playground. Children help decide what activities we do at the BSO. They indicate what they enjoy and together we discuss what is feasible. We actively participate in the 'Groen doet Goed' (Green is Good) project in the neighborhood and are often found in the Futseltuin where we can 'tinker' with local residents. Sport.Gouda regularly offers sports activities on the school playground that our BSO children can join. During holidays we offer an adapted holiday program with fun outings and activities.
