Wervelwind

Wervelwind is our after-school care centre located at Zonneplein 4 in Doetinchem. We welcome children aged 4 to 13 in a setting that is right in the city centre yet calm and inviting. Wervelwind is part of Humankind, an organisation with forty years of experience in guiding children and a firm belief that every child deserves space to discover who they are. Children can move freely between several rooms and play areas. We have a creative corner for arts and crafts, a construction zone where they can build for hours, and a kitchen where we regularly cook together. Making music, playing football, organising disco parties and building huts are among the favourite activities. We also spend a lot of time outdoors; the immediate surroundings offer plenty of exciting spots for nature and sports activities. Our pedagogical approach focuses on challenging children, fostering independence and giving them room to make their own choices. We are convinced that children thrive when they are allowed to experience, explore and decide for themselves. Partnerships with local sports clubs enrich our programme and align with the children’s interests. We are open Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 18:30. During these hours we provide a familiar place where children can relax, play and develop after school.
