Welcome to Peuteropvang Watoto, located in the Brede School at Zambezilaan 278 in the child-friendly Weidevenne district of Purmerend. We are part of Stichting Kinderopvang Purmerend, the social childcare organization of Waterland that has been providing every child with a good start for over 50 years. At Watoto, we welcome toddlers aged 2 to 4 years in a safe, homely environment. We work with small horizontal groups, ensuring that each child receives the personal attention they deserve. Our experienced pedagogical staff create a warm atmosphere where children feel safe and seen. During playful morning or afternoon sessions, we focus on your child's development. We pay special attention to language development through role-play, circle activities, singing and reading aloud. All activities are tailored to the toddlers' world of experience. We stimulate creative development through crafts, drawing and building. While playing, children learn new skills and make their first friends. Watoto works closely with primary school Oeboentoe, which is located in the same building. We coordinate themes and celebrations, allowing your toddler to get acquainted with primary school in a playful way. This collaboration significantly reduces the step to group 1. When transitioning from Watoto to Oeboentoe, a warm transfer takes place, with your child's development at the center. Our toddler care is open for both half and full days, so you can choose what suits your family best. We provide pre-school education (VVE), optimally supporting your child's development in this important phase before primary school.
