Wasko Het Kompas PSG

Welcome to PSG Het Kompas in Alblasserdam! We are a Christian playgroup that is part of the Wasko Childcare Foundation. Our location at Scheepmakersstraat 7 provides a homely and safe environment where children aged 2 to 4 can grow and develop through play. At PSG Het Kompas, we give your child all the space to discover and push boundaries. Our cozy and manageable playgroup offers challenging learning corners where children can play, build, craft and read stories. We work from a Christian identity in which attention is paid to each other and in which we teach children that they are unique and may be who they are. Our pedagogical staff guide the children with great care and attention. We offer a fixed daily routine in which structure and regularity are central. This gives young children peace and security. The day is interspersed with free play time, focused activities and moments for relaxation. We sing together, make music, craft and read from Bible stories and other picture books. Language development is high on our agenda. We stimulate language development by talking a lot with the children, reading aloud and inviting them to tell their own stories. We also work closely with primary school Het Kompas, ensuring a smooth transition to primary school. For the very youngest we have a separate toddler group where extra attention is paid to the development of independence and social skills. We work with small groups so that we can give each child the attention they deserve. The play area is equipped with different development corners such as a construction corner, a home corner, a reading corner and a creative corner. We believe it is important that parents are involved in their child's development. There is plenty of room for consultation and we work closely with parents. We regularly organize parent meetings and parent evenings. Parents can also always drop by to take a look or have a chat. Our location has a safe outdoor playground where children can play and move wonderfully. When the weather is nice, we go outside to play in the fresh air. The garden is equipped with play equipment, a sandbox and plenty of space to run and play. PSG Het Kompas is officially registered as a playgroup in the National Childcare Register. We offer both half and full day care, tailored to the needs of parents.
