Waldorfhaus Vuurvlinder

Waldorfhaus Vuurvlinder is located on the ground floor of the Free School Rotterdam-Nesselande, adjacent to the school's spacious outdoor area. We provide anthroposophical toddler care for children aged 2 to 4 years. In a homely horizontal group of up to 28 children we work from the Steiner-Waldorf pedagogy. This means we see each child as a unique individual and tailor play and activities to the developmental stage your child is in. Our room is furnished with natural materials and warm colours. There is a large garden with a sandpit, water and mud area, vegetable patch and tree house. We spend a lot of time outdoors; outdoor play is just as important to us as indoor activities. The daily rhythm follows a fixed structure with free play, tidying up together, fruit time, crafting, singing and story time. We work seasonally: in autumn we make soup from our own harvest, in winter we bake bread and in spring we sow new plants. Our pedagogical staff have an anthroposophical background and attend regular training. We use only organic and vegetarian food. For sleeping there is a separate rest area with cots and woollen duvets. Parents receive a monthly newsletter via the parent portal and are always welcome to drop in for a chat.
