SKSG Vuurtoren

SKSG Vuurtoren is located in the former ‘Vensterhuis’ in the Lewenborg district of Groningen. We provide daycare (KDV) and pre-school playgroup (PZS) for children aged 0 to 4 years. The centre has a maximum capacity of 56 places, divided into four horizontal core groups: Wasberen and Pandaberen (0-2 years, up to 12 children each) and Koalabeertjes and Krokodillenplas (2-4 years, up to 16 children each). We believe every child should feel safe and secure in order to develop through play. That is why we follow the Early Childhood Education programme ‘Piramide’, which stimulates toddlers’ social, emotional, motor and cognitive development in a playful way. Throughout the year we work with themes that connect to young children’s world and offer matching activities. Outdoor play is just as important as indoor activities. Rain or shine, our children go outside every day—either in our sheltered, naturally designed garden or in the green surroundings of Lewenborg. Rain? No problem! With SKSG’s green rain boots, playing outside becomes a party. For the very youngest we have traditional Groningen ‘Lutje Potjes®’: cosy sleeping cabins where babies can nap safely and healthily outdoors, always in consultation with parents. Conveniently, we share the building with Aqua Groningen Swim School, so toddlers can head straight to a splash lesson or work on their Nijntje Movement Diploma after childcare. Our opening hours are 07:30–18:00, year-round (except public holidays). Extended care from 07:00 and/or until 18:30 is available on request.
