Voorschool OBS Klazienaveen

Welcome to the preschool of OBS Klazienaveen, located at Van Echtenstraat 26 in the heart of Klazienaveen. As part of Openbaar Onderwijs Emmen, we provide pre-school education (VVE) for toddlers aged 2.5 to 4 years in a safe, small-scale group of maximum 16 children. The children attend four half-days a week, totalling 16 hours, during which they playfully work on language, numeracy and social skills. Our team of qualified pedagogical staff follow the ‘Uk & Puk’ programme, working thematically and aligning activities closely with the primary school curriculum. This creates a continuous learning line from preschool to group 1/2. We focus on language development through reading aloud, singing and conversations, stimulate fine motor skills with crafts and construction, and provide space for imagination and role-play. The large, green outdoor playground invites running, climbing and discovering nature. We believe every child should feel seen and valued. Therefore we work with consistent staff, a clear daily structure and small sub-groups. Any developmental delays are identified early and can be addressed in collaboration with parents and, if necessary, external partners. Parents are actively involved through parent meetings, helping out at celebrations and information sharing via Social Schools. In short: at OBS Klazienaveen preschool, toddlers are given the space to develop at their own pace, learning through play and having fun, ready for a flying start at primary school.
