Voorschool de Speelhoek

Voorschool de Speelhoek is a small-scale, welcoming preschool located on the ground floor of daycare De Tuimelaar at Janusz Korczakstraat 73 in Amsterdam Zuidoost. As part of Swazoom Kinderopvang, we provide toddler care with a clear pedagogical goal: preparing children aged 2 to 4 for primary school through play. Our classroom is arranged into distinct learning corners—a home corner for role-play, a construction corner for building, an arts & crafts area for creativity and a cosy reading corner stocked with picture books. Sessions run from 08:30 to 13:50 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Children play in a single horizontal group of up to 14 toddlers guided by two experienced pedagogical staff. Our own green discovery garden invites gardening, cycling, running and nature exploration in every season. We follow the Early Childhood Education (VVE) programme, focusing on language development, social skills and independence. Fruit and a shared lunch are included; special diets can be arranged in consultation. We regularly discuss each child’s progress with parents to ensure a smooth transition to group 1.
