Voorschool De Meerbeer

Voorschool De Meerbeer is located on the ground floor of Brede Daltonschool De Meer at Van ’t Hofflaan 52 in Amsterdam-Oost. We are a small-scale preschool with one group that welcomes up to 16 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our service is half-day care only: children can attend from 8:15 AM to 1:15 PM. De Meerbeer follows the VVE programme Startblokken. This means we work thematically and offer activities that connect with the world of experience of young children. Through play, we stimulate language development, social skills and independence. We have a continuous learning line with the primary school. Our pedagogical staff regularly guide the children to the kindergarten classes, so they become familiar with the school environment at an early stage. When transitioning to primary school, a warm transfer takes place, ensuring the development of each child continues smoothly. We work with two regular pedagogical staff members per session. In addition, trainees sometimes join us to provide extra attention. For new children and parents, we have a gentle settling-in period: the first time a parent stays along, after which we gradually reduce this at the child's pace. This gives every child the space to feel safe and comfortable in our group.
