Voorschool De Kleine Plantage

The Kleine Plantage is a small and cozy daycare center located in the heart of Amsterdam's Plantage neighborhood. We are housed in a characteristic building at Henri Polaklaan 12B, right across from Artis Zoo. The homely and warm atmosphere ensures that children and parents quickly feel at ease. We provide care for up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years. In addition to full-day care from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, we also offer half-day care from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM. A combination of full and half days is also possible. We value continuity in the groups; therefore, we work with a permanent and experienced team of five pedagogical staff members who are present throughout the week. Anne Jantzen, our manager, founded De Kleine Plantage nearly 40 years ago and still works daily on the group. We have two spacious, bright group rooms that overlook our beautiful green courtyard garden. The garden is surrounded by other gardens and houses, making it wonderfully peaceful. Children can play in the sandboxes, climb the climbing trees, play in the playhouse, and take care of our five rabbits in the large rabbit hutch. We go outside every day, in good and bad weather. Children receive a healthy and varied lunch with fresh wholemeal bread from the Bakkers van Oost and as many organic spreads as possible. We do crafts daily with the children in our own studio in the garden. During the fall and winter months, our resident artist comes weekly for extra creative activities. We sing daily, and the 'Song Wizard' regularly visits to make music with the children. Due to our location opposite Artis, we also make regular trips to the zoo.
