Voorschool de Amstel

Welcome to Voorschool de Amstel at Welnastraat 845 in the heart of Amsterdam East. We are part of Dynamo Kind, an organization with nearly 30 preschools throughout Amsterdam. Our preschool is specially designed for children aged 2 to 4 years and provides a safe, familiar environment where play and learning go hand in hand. At Voorschool de Amstel, we follow an accredited VVE program (Early Childhood Education) focused on your child's optimal development. Our toddler groups consist of a maximum of 16 children guided by 2 permanent, qualified pedagogical staff members. We focus on four important developmental areas: language development through shared reading, talking and singing; motor development through movement, dance and creative activities; numeracy skills through counting, sorting and puzzling; and social-emotional development through playing together and helping each other. Our approach is playful and child-centered. We connect with children's natural curiosity and their need for independence. For example, if your child is excited about a fire truck they've seen, we build an educational activity around it. This way, every child has the opportunity to learn and grow from their own perspective. We are open 5 days a week from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. During school holidays and public holidays we are closed. For eligible parents, childcare allowance or municipal allowance is available through Dynamo's Planning and Placement department.
