Voorschool Bos en Lommer

Voorschool Bos en Lommer is located on the grounds of the public primary school Bos en Lommer at Meimorgenstraat 2 in Amsterdam West. We welcome curious toddlers aged 2 to 4 who are ready to explore the world together with peers. We use the Early Childhood Education (VVE) programme Uk & Puk. This learning programme is tailored weekly to the children’s age and current interests. Themes such as ‘animals’, ‘the forest’ or ‘traffic’ are introduced in playful ways. During these themes we practise language through lots of conversation and reading aloud, make first sums with blocks and beads, sing songs, move to music and draw with thick markers and soft crayons. All activities take place both inside our bright group room and outside on the safe school playground. Our experienced pedagogical staff create a familiar environment in which every child is given space to develop at his or her own pace. We follow a clear daily rhythm with fixed moments for play, meals, nappy changes and rest. Children are divided into two horizontal age groups: Group Ape (Mon & Thu 8:00-13:00, Tue & Fri 14:00-17:00) and Group Bear (Mon & Thu 14:00-17:00, Tue & Fri 8:00-13:00). This allows us to match activities even better to the toddlers’ developmental stage. Our fees are all-in: nappies, hot meals, healthy snacks and drinks are included. If your child follows a special diet, we ask you to provide the necessary food. We keep parents informed of the day’s highlights through the Parent App and schedule regular parent meetings. This way your child will start primary school with confidence and well prepared.
