Peuteropvang Bascule

Peuteropvang Bascule is located at Sportlaan 85 in Nieuw-Amsterdam and forms part of the Integral Child Centre (IKC) De Bascule, managed by Onderwijs en Opvang Emmen. We provide care for up to 15 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our bright, open rooms open onto a large, green outdoor playground where children can run, explore and play safely. The atmosphere is warm and homely; we work in small, horizontal toddler groups so every child receives the attention they deserve. Everything we do centres on pre-school education (VE). We follow the ‘Startblokken’ programme, which stimulates language, numeracy and social skills through play. Our pedagogical staff are specially trained to ensure a smooth transition to primary school. Each morning begins with circle time, after which children choose from corners such as the construction area, reading corner or creative table. We sing, count, tell stories and go outside at least once a day. Parents can opt for morning or day sessions; flexible care is available by arrangement. We work closely with De Bascule primary school, located in the same building. This means children already know their teacher, the corridors and the playground before they turn four. Parents are actively involved through parent meetings, themed mornings and our parent portal. In short, at Peuteropvang Bascule toddlers grow and play their way to a flying start at school.
