Villa Safari

Villa Safari is our small-scale daycare centre right in the heart of Arnhem, located at De la Reijstraat 4. We welcome up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 years, divided into two horizontal groups: a baby group (0-2 years) and a toddler group (2-4 years). Our doors are open Monday to Friday from 7.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., including half-day options. Everything we do is centred on a homely atmosphere. The rooms are furnished like a cosy living room: wooden furniture, soft colours, a long dining table for shared meals and crafts, and separate bedrooms with cots and cribs. We work with a fixed team—no substitute staff—so your child is always greeted by familiar faces. Parents describe it as “an extension of home”. Our pedagogical approach focuses on providing children with calm, routine and recognition. Toddlers follow the VVE programme ‘Startblokken’, emphasising language development and learning through play. For babies we use an individual schedule that mirrors the rhythm of home: feeding on demand, nappy changes, sleeping in their own bed and plenty of cuddles. We use only natural materials—wooden Montessori toys, fabric and board books, and no unnecessary sounds or flashing lights. Health and fresh air are equally important. We go outside every day, rain or shine. The small garden behind the building offers space to ride, dig and garden. We serve organic hot meals, fresh fruit and plenty to drink. If your child has an allergy or special diet, we are happy to adjust the menu together with you. In short, at Villa Safari your child finds a safe, loving place to develop at his or her own pace, surrounded by familiar faces and a warm, homely environment.
