Welcome to KDV Villa Kakel-Bont, located in the multifunctional facility De Vogelweide at Merellaan 3 in Schoonhoven East. We provide small-scale daycare for children aged 0 to 4 years in a homely environment that parents describe as ‘a warm blanket’. Our location is small and manageable, so your child quickly feels at home. Everything we do revolves around health, movement and development. We go outside every day – even in rain or snow – because outdoor play promotes motor, social and mental development. In our garden, children can play, cycle and garden. We regularly organise trips to the library, the deer park and the fruit parade, and offer reading and book activities to stimulate language development. Our baby care is specially designed for the very youngest. We work with permanent pedagogical staff who are specially trained for baby care. Bottle feeding, snacks, fresh fruit snacks and nappies are included. We take your child’s home routine into account and offer peace, regularity and lots of personal attention. For toddlers aged 2.5 to 4 years, we have a special 3+ group with a maximum of 16 children. This group playfully prepares children for primary school, with lots of attention to language, social skills and independence. We work with themes, crafts, reading and play outside a lot. Our groups are vertically arranged, so children of different ages play together and learn from each other. This stimulates social development and creates a homely atmosphere. We do not work with a substitute pool; in case of illness or holidays, our permanent colleagues step in for each other. This guarantees continuity. At Villa Kakel-Bont, your child is the centre of attention. We offer a safe, loving environment where your child can develop at his or her own pace.
