Kinderdagverblijf De Oase

De Oase is a legally recognised Parent-Run Daycare (KDO) located in the heart of Utrecht’s Rivierenwijk district. Since 2011 we have welcomed children from 3 months to 4 years at our bright premises on Noordzeestraat 20. As a parent-co-operative we are driven by enthusiasm, commitment and mutual trust: every parent works one fixed morning or afternoon shift each week, and in return may bring their own child for two full days of play and development. Our vertical group hosts up to eight children plus the children of the two on-duty parents. Two spacious playrooms (160 m²) are arranged into themed corners such as a slide-house, kitchen, construction area, drawing corner and more. A connecting “wet” area offers child-sized toilets, changing tables and a low sink. When the weather is poor we can use the gym in the same building. Behind the building lies our enclosed outdoor area, completely renovated by the municipality in spring 2024. We believe children should feel at home. Parents provide nappies, formula, bread, fruit and vegetables themselves. Together we create a safe, secure place where children are free to explore. We organise regular parties, outings, drinks and our annual Oase camping weekend. Every parent holds a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) and experienced parents hold a valid paediatric first-aid certificate. Twice a year we discuss each child’s development during our child-round sessions. De Oase is open Monday to Friday 08:00–17:45, including school holidays (closed on public holidays).
