Vandaag BSO De Swetten

Welcome to Vandaag BSO De Swetten, our welcoming after-school care located right in the heart of the De Swetten neighbourhood in Drachten. We are housed in the characteristic church building of the Open Thuis Gemeente at Brouwerssingel 3, where we have transformed a spacious, bright hall into a home base for up to 22 children aged 4 to 12. Since 14 August 2013, we have been officially registered as an after-school care facility (BSO) in the National Childcare Register (LRK). At Vandaag BSO De Swetten, we believe every child has unique talents. We provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can develop emotionally, socially, physically and cognitively. Our pedagogical staff are ready to welcome children after school, guide them with homework and discover, play and learn together. We encourage independence, creativity and social behaviour while respecting each child's individuality. Our vision is clear: talent development is central. By integrating controlled risk play safely into our daily programme, children learn to explore their boundaries, build self-confidence and develop important life skills. Learning through play is our guiding principle. We combine fun and learning so children stay curious and can safely discover and grow. Nature and sustainability are key pillars within our care. We spend lots of time outdoors, enjoying fresh air and teaching children to be mindful of nature. Where possible, we use sustainable materials and make nature a playful part of our activities. During school holidays, we are open from 8:00 to 18:30, so parents can rely on us year-round. Our location is easily accessible, right in the neighbourhood, so children often walk or cycle from school to us. We work closely with local primary schools to ensure a smooth transition from school to after-school care. At Vandaag BSO De Swetten, every child feels at home and has space to be themselves.
