Welcome to VANDAAG BSO De Lawei! Our after-school care is located in a unique setting: right inside the De Lawei Theatre at Laweiplein in Drachten. This special location allows us to work closely with the cultural centre, giving children the opportunity to take a peek behind the scenes of a real theatre. We provide care for up to 21 children aged 4 to 12 years. Our pedagogical approach focuses on talent development: every child is unique and we help children discover and further develop their own talents and skills. We combine fun and learning through playful engagement with creative tasks and challenging activities. An important part of our programme is risky play. In a safe and controlled manner, children learn to explore their boundaries, build self-confidence and develop important skills that prepare them for life's challenges. Additionally, we pay great attention to nature and sustainability: we regularly play outdoors, use sustainable materials where possible, and teach children to interact consciously with their environment in a playful way. Through our collaboration with De Lawei, we can regularly make use of the cultural facilities of the theatre. Think of workshops, tours and small performances specifically tailored to the world of experience of our after-school children. This way, they are introduced to theatre, music and other art forms at a young age. Our location is officially registered in the National Childcare Register under number 243951358 since 14 September 2017. We are part of VANDAAG Childcare, active in various municipalities in Friesland.
