VANDAAG BSO Gytsjerk is located in the Integral Child Centre 't Ichthus at Simke Kloostermanstrjitte 44 in Gytsjerk. In this modern centre, primary school and childcare work closely together, allowing children aged 4 to 12 to move straight into a familiar environment after school. We have room for up to 30 children and have been officially registered in the National Childcare Register since 1 December 2010. Our vision is clear: every child is unique and has their own set of talents and skills. Together with the children we discover and further develop these talents in a safe, stimulating environment. We encourage independence, creativity and social behaviour and respect the individuality of each child. Risky play is part of this: in a controlled way, children learn to explore their boundaries, build self-confidence and develop skills that prepare them for life’s challenges. Outdoor play is an important part of our programme. We use as many sustainable materials as possible and let the children discover, through play, how to interact consciously with nature and their surroundings. Our pedagogical staff guide the children so that fun and learning go hand in hand. For parents, this location offers the convenience of one address for both school and childcare. The partnership with CBS Ichthusschool ensures short, safe hand-over moments and a continuous line in the child’s development.
