UniKidz Steiger

Welcome to UniKidz Steiger, our after-school care location on Steigereiland in the IJburg district. We provide small-scale after-school care for children aged 4 to 13 in a homely environment with plenty of natural light and a large, cool garden where children can play to their heart's content. At UniKidz Steiger, we believe children should be able to be themselves, just like at home. We gladly take over parents' responsibilities for a few hours, ensuring children receive healthy food and drinks, listening to them and giving them full attention. Our educational staff create a safe environment where children can challenge themselves, discover and develop their personal talents. Our activity program is based on four developmental areas: FitKidz (sports and movement), SkillsKidz (making and creating in the studio, theater or cooking studio), SoulKidz (culture, yoga, theater and dance) and MindKidz (STEAM activities in our Makerspace). Children can get acquainted with dozens of sports, work creatively with their hands, participate in theater and dance activities, and discover how things work. We also regularly organize excursions and take children to activities such as horse riding, ballet, theater or swimming lessons. Our location is unique due to the presence of a sign language group for deaf and hard-of-hearing children, providing an inclusive environment where all children can play and learn together. We work with a permanent team of educational staff with different backgrounds, ensuring children feel safe and familiar. UniKidz Steiger is open Monday through Friday from 07:30-18:30 (Wednesday from 11:30). We offer before-school care (VSO) and after-school care, picking up children from school and assisting with homework. Our mission is to give children space to grow and flourish, every day again with the same love and passion.
