Toverburcht

Welcome to BSO De Toverburcht, located at Meikers 3 in Arnhem’s Schuytgraaf district. We are part of SKAR and have provided after-school care for up to 160 children aged 4 to 12 since 2007. Our building is a true children’s hub: we share the roof with primary schools De Vijfster, De Ontmoeting and De Wonderwind, as well as with our own day-care groups. This means your child can stay in the same safe, familiar environment from toddler to twelve years old. Every day is a celebration with us. Each month we explore a new theme and offer daily activities such as painting, dancing, making music, sports and games, technology, cooking and baking. Wednesday afternoons are extra special: the group is smaller and, together with their regular pedagogical staff member, the children design their own plan. We then head to our own neighbourhood vegetable garden to grow produce or visit local elderly residents with a treat or a joint activity. During school holidays we keep moving. Every holiday has its own exciting theme – from ‘Living like a Celebrity’ to ‘Light and Dark’ and ‘Technology’. Around that theme we organise cooking and technology days, sports tournaments and excursions. Child participation is key: children actively help plan the activities, leading to surprising and inspiring ideas. We work closely with Broad School De Salamander and the other SKAR after-school locations in Schuytgraaf, such as bso Sportkr8, bso Villa Fantasia and bso Rivers. This allows us to drop off and pick up children at judo or dance clubs as well. In short, at BSO De Toverburcht there is always something to experience for every child.
