Toekomst

Welcome to Kindcentrum Toekomst, located at Van Ostadelaan 120 in the heart of Schiedam-West. We are part of KomKids, a trusted childcare organisation with more than 35 years of experience providing safe, loving care in Schiedam and the surrounding area. At Toekomst, everything revolves around the development of children aged 0 to 4. We offer four separate full-day care groups, each tailored to a specific age stage. The baby group (0 – 1.5 years) offers peace, regularity and space for the very youngest. Next, your child moves on to the toddler group (1.5 – 2.5 years), where play and discovery are central in a familiar environment. This is followed by the pre-school group (2.5 – 4 years), where we work on social skills, independence and a smooth transition to primary school. Finally, we have a vertical group (0 – 4 years), in which children of different ages play together and learn from each other. In addition to the group rooms, we have a large central hall. Here we start the day together and also end it again. In between, it is a meeting place where children can play freely, meet each other and take part in activities together with our pedagogical staff. The hall offers plenty of room for movement and creative expression. Our outdoor area is safely enclosed and invitingly laid out. Children can slide, swing, build sandcastles or ride bikes to their heart's content. In addition, we regularly use the adjacent Frans Halsplein, a large public square directly adjacent to our childcare centre. In this way, the children also get to know the neighbourhood in which they are growing up better. At Toekomst, we work with Early and Pre-school Education (VVE) using the Startblokken method. This programme supports toddlers' language, numeracy and social-emotional development and prepares them for primary school. We work closely with primary schools Het Kleurrijk and St. Bernardus to ensure a smooth transition from childcare to school. Parents can choose between full days or shortened care, depending on their needs.
