Tjil! KDV de Heikant

Tjil! KDV de Heikant is located right across the lively Wagnerplein, in the heart of Tilburg-Noord. Our day-care centre is housed in the same building as the De Heikant residential care centre, so young and old literally meet each other. We provide care for up to 80 children aged 0 to 4 years, divided into a baby group (0-2 years), a toddler group (2-4 years) and a vertical group (0-4 years) in which children of different ages play and learn together. We play both indoors and outdoors. Our spacious, green garden invites running, climbing and discovering, while the bright indoor areas offer quiet corners for reading books or doing a puzzle. We consciously work with natural materials and colours that match the world of experience of young children. A special feature of our location is the collaboration with the residential care centre. We regularly visit ‘the grandpas and grandmas’. The children sing together, make a drawing or read aloud. For both the children and the residents, this is a valuable moment of connection. As a VVE location, we provide pre-school education to all children from the age of 2. We use the Uk & Puk programme to stimulate the broad development of the children through active play and recognisable themes. In addition, we work with supporting gestures from Gebarenstem, which promotes interaction and mutual communication, especially when speaking is (not yet) going well. Our pedagogical staff carefully observe the development of each child with our ‘Kijk’ system and discuss progress during parent meetings. This ensures a smooth transition to primary school when your child is almost 4 years old. Flexibility is high on our list of priorities. We offer both regular and flexible childcare, from fixed hours to incidental days. Our opening hours are generous, so parents in Tilburg-Noord can always find suitable childcare.
