Thuishuis Het Turfje

Welcome to Thuishuis Het Turfje, our small-scale daycare centre at Noorderweg 4a in the heart of Tiendeveen. Led by owner Mechteld van Nieuwenhuizen, we provide care for up to five children aged 0–4 in a warm, homely setting. We are based in a farmhouse just outside the village, surrounded by meadows, animals and plenty of space to play and explore safely. Respect for one another and for nature is at the heart of everything we do. Every day the children go outside to meet the chickens, rabbits and other farm animals. By being active in nature they gain valuable and educational experiences. Indoors there is a spacious, cosy play area with fixed corners for rest, play and creative development. Our team consists of three familiar faces: Mechteld, Francisca and Jolijn. The children know exactly who is caring for them, which creates a sense of security. We work with permanent staff and use a vertical group structure; all ages from 0–4 are together in one group. This allows the youngest to learn from the older ones and helps the toddlers develop caring skills. Flexibility is our trademark. You can take both fixed hours and flexible childcare, all by mutual agreement. We are open Monday to Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and tailor our service to what your family needs.
