Thuishuis De Kleine Gast

Thuishuis De Kleine Gast is located at Scheiding 7A in Opende and has provided small-scale after-school care (BSO) for up to 24 children aged 4–10 since 2015. Led by owner Foekje de Haan, a stable and enthusiastic team is ready every weekday to give children a safe, homely and above all fun experience. Our premises feature bright, cheerful playrooms and a large green outdoor area with goats and pigs where children can play freely. Our after-school group “De Vinders” is designed especially for primary-school children. We pick the children up from school and offer care before school (VSO), after school, during holidays and on study days. Materials for crafts, construction and games are always available and we regularly organise outings such as visits to the local library. Quiet corners are provided for children who simply want to relax. Our work is guided by a clear pedagogical policy focused on providing a warm second home. Every child is free to be themselves and develops at their own pace. Our qualified pedagogical staff – including Marieke, Thea, Karina, Cristina, Mieke, Jocé, Janke and Mirthe – build genuine relationships with the children and support their development through play. Parents can leave their children with confidence, knowing they will go home with a big smile. Every day is different, making life at De Kleine Gast a daily celebration!
