Backpackers

Welcome to Backpackers, the out-of-school care location of Junis Childcare at De Oude Wereld 54 in Alphen aan den Rijn. We provide care for children aged 4 to 13, divided into two age groups: 4–7 years and 8.5–13 years. Our facility is located on the ground floor of De Meridiaan primary school, ensuring a smooth and familiar transition from school to after-school care. At Backpackers, we believe children should be free to choose what they want to do. Outside, they can play in our large playground or in the nearby Europapark. Inside, we offer a spacious playroom with a foosball table and plenty of room for arts and crafts, cooking, or simply relaxing with a book on the couch. We collaborate with neighboring BSOs Atlantis and De Pioniers, so children aged 7 to 8.5 are also welcome through these locations. Our pedagogical staff pick up children on foot from nearby schools. For schools located further away, Junis uses its own bicycle vans or arranges transport with a taxi company. This ensures every child arrives safely and on time. During school holidays and study days, we offer holiday care. Our opening hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 07:30 to 18:30. On Wednesday and Friday, care is provided at Kindercentrum Atlantis, also from 07:30 to 18:30. Backpackers is more than just childcare: it’s a place where children feel safe and at home, where they can play, explore, and grow at their own pace.
