Kinderdagverblijf The Clown Club

The Clown Club is an international early learning centre located in a historic school building at Johan de Wittstraat 33 in the centre of Wassenaar. Since 1995 we have provided high-quality childcare for children from 10 weeks to 5 years old from both the local Dutch and international communities. Our qualified teaching staff all hold Bachelor-level degrees specialised in early childhood education, together with additional graduate professional-development certificates. We run six age-specific groups: one baby group, a Dutch-language group for children 1/1.5–2.5 years, an English-language group for the same age, and separate toddler and preschool groups. Every child is unique, and we design our programme to meet each child’s individual needs within a safe, secure and loving environment. Playful, age-appropriate challenges help children grow from infants into confident preschoolers. Activities include music, arts & crafts, story time and regular excursions to places such as the petting farm or local library. We also host special events like International Day and Saturday ‘play dates’ where parents and children enjoy singing, games and shared traditions. Parents are always welcome. We believe childcare is a partnership between home and school, so open communication is central to everything we do. Parents are invited to read stories, share cultural traditions or simply spend time in the classroom. Our parent committee organises additional opportunities for involvement throughout the year. Our international team is our greatest asset. Many educators have been with us for over ten years—some for more than twenty—and several are former or current parents of the school. Ongoing professional development, coaching and themed evenings ensure that our practice remains current and that we continue to exceed Dutch CAO quality standards. The Clown Club is more than a daycare; it is a warm, vibrant community where children, parents and educators learn and grow together.
