TISA BSO

Welcome to TISA BSO, located at Lorentzkade 15A in the heart of Leiden. We provide bilingual after-school care for children aged 4 to 12 in an inspiring space shared with the international TISA program. Our location accommodates up to 101 children and has been registered in the National Childcare Register since August 21, 2018, under number 237220672. Every afternoon begins with picking up children from our partner schools, including TISA, Leiden International, and local primary schools. Upon arrival, children enjoy healthy snacks with fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grain products. We then head outdoors for daily outdoor activities, regardless of weather conditions. We believe fresh air, movement, and nature connection are essential after a day in the classroom. Our pedagogical approach focuses on child-led activities. Children choose their interest clubs each term, ranging from cooking to coding, sports to storytelling. This gives them ownership over their afternoon. During school holidays, our BSO transforms into full-day adventures with week-long themed projects, field trips around Leiden, special guests, and workshops. Our bilingual environment (Dutch/English) allows children to naturally develop both languages, making our BSO particularly suitable for international families. We engage in STEAM projects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) that feel like play but build valuable future skills. During holiday programs, we organize extensive excursions and workshops. Children work on week-long projects and explore Leiden and beyond. We provide a safe and stimulating environment where children develop into global citizens with curious perspectives on the world around them.
