KDV Sloten - Kidelstientsje

Welcome to KDV Sloten – Kidelstientsje, our small-scale daycare centre at Wijckelerweg 172 in the heart of Sloten. We are part of SKIK Kinderopvang, the Frisian organisation where ‘attention, growth and fun’ come first. Up to 16 children aged 0 to 4 find a safe, familiar place to grow through play. Our room is located in primary school De Klinkert and is designed so that indoors and outdoors flow seamlessly together. French doors open directly onto a fenced outdoor area where children can run, cycle, climb and bake sand pies. Inside, the group space is divided into several activity corners: a construction corner full of blocks and building materials, a quiet reading corner with picture books and a craft table where we regularly start creative projects. This allows every child to discover what they enjoy at their own pace. We follow the recognisable SKIK daily rhythm. This means fixed times for playing, eating, sleeping and being outside, tailored to your child’s age and needs. Our bilingual pedagogical professionals (Dutch and Frisian) closely monitor your son or daughter’s development and provide extra stimuli or rest where necessary. Because of the small scale, we know every child and every parent personally; you can always drop in for a chat or advice. For the very youngest we have separate sleeping areas with cots and beds, so they can dream undisturbed while toddlers and pre-schoolers continue to play. We use horizontal groups: babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers each stay in their own age group, so activities and attention perfectly match their stage of development. Pre-schoolers also get their first playful introduction to early childhood education, making the transition to primary school a logical next step.
