't Kickertje, van Gentsingel

Welcome to the Burgemeester van Gentsingel location of ’t Kickertje, right in the heart of Schipluiden. Our daycare centre is situated in a unique spot: next to a care centre, opposite a new housing estate, with a view across the meadows. This rural character makes us both a peaceful haven and part of the village community. Every day we provide care for up to 62 children divided across three groups. The Inktvisjes form our vertical group for children aged 0-4, with a maximum of 16 children per day. For the very youngest we have the Zeepaardjes, a baby group for 0-2 year olds with space for 14 children. The Boomkikkers is our toddler and pre-schooler group for 2-4 year olds, also accommodating 16 children per day. We aim for a balanced age distribution within each group. Our spacious, bright classrooms – once a primary school – offer plenty of opportunities for play and development. In 2019 the classrooms were completely refurbished, making full use of the generous spaces. Around the location and in the immediate vicinity there are abundant play opportunities. The children regularly and enthusiastically visit the petting farm. In 2017 a fantastic natural playground was created, offering plenty of space to discover, play and enjoy. For toddlers from about 2.5 years old we offer the Peuterwerkplaats (Toddler Workshop) in the mornings. This adapted programme provides extra challenge and a different environment. This activity is accessible to children from the Boomkikkers and Inktvisjes groups. Additionally, it is possible to register for the Peuterwerkplaats as a separate form of care (3 or 4 hours). ’t Kickertje provides (early and) pre-school education (VVE/VE). The GGD monitors our quality; the most recent inspection report can be found on the National Childcare Register website.
