Stichting Vechtkroost

Peuterspeelzaal Vechtkroost is the single location of Stichting Vechtkroost, situated at Niftarlakelaan 3 in the centre of Vreeland. We provide toddler care for up to 16 children aged 2 to 4 years. Our horizontal grouping means children play with peers of the same age, creating a safe and recognisable environment. We follow an Early Childhood Education (VVE) programme focused on learning through play. Our pedagogical staff arrange the rooms in an attractive, theme-based way that stimulates emerging literacy and numeracy. Each child’s development is monitored with a standardised observation tool, and findings are regularly discussed with parents. This allows us to tailor our activities to every child’s zone of proximal development. Our garden offers ample space for outdoor play and natural discovery. We believe children should be able to explore, run and play both indoors and outdoors. In good weather we spend much of the day outside; in poorer weather our spacious rooms still allow plenty of movement. Co-operation with parents and primary schools is central to our approach. When children move on to primary school we ensure a ‘warm hand-over’: our staff and the new teachers exchange detailed information so that your child can make a smooth transition to the next phase of education.
