Welcome to Stichting Peuterspeelzaal 't Krielhok, located at De Rotonde 1 in the heart of Krimpen aan de Lek. For more than half a century we have offered a trusted and safe place where children aged 2 to 4 grow and flourish through play. Our mission is to provide every child with a rich, challenging play environment in which they can develop to their full potential. We follow the guidelines of Early Childhood Education (VVE), ensuring that children who need extra support receive the right care and stimulation. At 't Krielhok everything revolves around learning through play. We use horizontal groups: children of the same age are together so that activities perfectly match their developmental stage. Our pedagogical staff guide small groups and create a warm, homely atmosphere. Language development is central: we read aloud, sing songs and expand vocabulary through conversations during play. We also work thematically; a theme such as ‘animals’ or ‘the forest’ is reflected in craft projects, building corners and role-play. Outdoor play is a fixed value: our secure outdoor area invites running, climbing and discovery. Parents choose flexible half-day care. Children can come to play one or more mornings or afternoons per week. Every day starts with a joint moment: circle time, singing and story time. This is followed by free play where children choose from the corners: building, crafts, home corner or reading corner. We finish with fruit and a drink and a quiet story. Everything is done at a gentle pace, tailored to the toddler’s world of experience. We are proud of our small scale: a maximum of 24 children per day means lots of personal attention.
