Stichting Peuterschool Kwetternest

Welcome to Peuterschool Kwetternest, a safe, small-scale and homely toddler care centre in the heart of Bunschoten-Spakenburg. Since 1970 we have been active in the municipality and since 2003 located in the characteristic former school building “de Brandaris” at Oude Gest 3. We provide care for toddlers aged 2 to 4 in two spacious classrooms with their own large outdoor playground where children can run, cycle and explore to their heart’s content every day. With us, the child and their play are central. We work with core groups of up to 16 children under the guidance of two qualified, VVE-certified pedagogical staff. Due to the small scale and the committed team, lines are short: parents can always contact us for consultation about their child's development. Our nine part-time colleagues and manager together provide a warm nest where humour and personal attention are highly valued. Learning through play is our motto. We use the nationally recognised VE method Uk & Puk to stimulate language skills, early numeracy and social-communication skills. Every six weeks we start a new theme – think of ‘My family and me’ or ‘Phew, it’s hot!’ – during which we read books, sing songs, dance, craft and build. Small circle moments and large circle discussions alternate, giving every child the space to express themselves and grow. Nappies and a healthy piece of fruit or vegetable as a snack are included with us. Children can come two mornings, two afternoons or one session per week; flexible arrangements are possible. During regular school holidays we are closed, so our team can recharge and you as a parent can enjoy holidays with your child.
