Stichting Lophi

Welcome to Lophi BSO, located in the historic Torckschool at Rosendaalselaan 3 in Rozendaal. We provide an innovative, holistic and natural learning environment where children aged 4 to 14 can discover who they are in connection with themselves, each other and the earth. Our location is beautifully situated between Rosendael Castle, the forest and the park, allowing us to make daily use of the rich natural surroundings. At Lophi we work with two age groups. The Fox Group (4-7 years) starts at 1:00 PM and the Badger Group (7-14 years) begins at 3:00 PM. We pick up children from surrounding schools and bring them to our spaces in the Torckschool. Children who attend school in the same building walk directly to our after-school care after school ends. Our pedagogical approach is based on awareness, self-direction and connection. We work with permanent supervisors who serve as mentors for a fixed group of children. This mentor follows the child's development, organizes intake conversations with parents and child, and has at least one parent meeting per year. Additionally, every six months there is a one-on-one conversation between mentor and child about what is going well and what the child would like to do. We offer a wide range of activities tailored to the children's interests. These activities have a fixed place in our daily rhythm: at 3:30 PM on school days and at 11:00 AM during holidays. Think of creative activities such as drawing and crafts, nature education in the forest, sports and games, and discovery learning. Our materials, games, puzzles and books are freely accessible and we regularly rotate these to align the environment with the children's development and interests. During holidays we organize holiday care where we sometimes combine groups when there are fewer than 15 children. We work closely with parents and school to provide a consistent pedagogical approach. Parents of home-schooled children are also warmly welcome to make use of our offerings.
