Stichting BSO De Verwondering Voorne

Stichting BSO De Verwondering Voorne is an integral part of Basisschool De Verwondering, located in a brand-new building at Geuzenpark 4 in Vierpolders. We provide after-school care for up to 60 children aged 4 to 12 who attend De Verwondering primary school. After school hours and during selected school holidays we offer a warm, home-like environment where children can play, explore and unwind. Our pedagogical approach is future- and talent-oriented: every child is naturally curious, investigative and eager to learn. We see it as our task to keep that spark alive. Through a rich, meaningful and child-centred programme we challenge children to keep learning and wondering, driven by their intrinsic motivation. Children actively help shape the activity plan; they are invited to think along and choose what appeals to them. In this way they discover their talents and boundaries through play. The BSO has a large outdoor area and the forest is right across the street. Therefore, a lot of time is spent outside: building huts, exploring nature, gardening or simply running and romping. Inside, children can read quietly, do crafts or build with LEGO. Our pedagogical staff are continuously receptive to the children’s signals and respond flexibly. This forms the basis of our child participation: children are given space to grow, make mistakes and excel. In short, at BSO De Verwondering Voorne children find a place every day where they can be themselves, play and move a lot, and together with others develop the life and learning skills they need.
