Sport- & Zwem BSO Knoet

Sport- & Zwem BSO Knoet is located at Sportparkweg 20 in Ede, right in the heart of the Ede/Victoria sports park. We are an after-school care facility (BSO) for children aged 4 to 12 and have room for up to 52 children. Our setting is the cosy, fully renovated clubhouse of football club Ede/Victoria, surrounded by large grass pitches, a skate park and the adjacent Hoekelum Forest. At Knoet we believe in “mental relaxation through physical exertion”. After a long day at school nothing beats letting off steam together with peers on the sports field, in the gym or in the woods. Our 26 pedagogical staff – all graduates of sports colleges such as ALO, CIOS or Sport & Movement – guide the children in small age-based groups. The youngest children (4-5 yrs) swim every other week as “Dolphins” and are playfully introduced to sport. Older groups (5 up to 10+ yrs) face increasing challenges: from Arctic Foxes and Polar Bears to Reindeer and Elks, with the technical aspects of sports being explored step by step. Besides sports we also offer creative activities such as crafts and board games. We pick the children up daily from primary schools in the area – including those around Climax and Moorfielders – and provide fruit, drinks and a biscuit. When the weather is good we play outside; in winter we use the gyms at Pallas and De Peppel. Children who want to learn to swim can take lessons at De Peppel swimming pool and Tesqua Sport & Healthclub, allowing them to earn their swimming certificate during BSO hours. We are also open on teacher-training days and holidays with a varied programme of sports, games and excursions.
