Sport BSO Bekkerveld

Sport BSO Bekkerveld is located in the Multifunctional Centre A-gene-Bek on the grounds of football club Bekkerveld at Tacitusstraat 130, Heerlen. We are the only sports-oriented after-school care facility in Heerlen for children aged 7 to 12. Every day our professional sports teachers and childcare staff offer a varied programme that centres on learning through movement. Our philosophy is simple: children discover who they are and what they can do by playing and being active. Enjoyment in sport and play always comes first. Our daily sports programme develops physical skills such as strength, endurance, flexibility and technique, while also training social skills like cooperation, communication, dealing with winning and losing, and self-regulation. We work in two age groups: group 1 for children aged 7–9 and group 2 for children aged 10–12. This allows us to tailor activities to different developmental stages. Sports offered include football, basketball, badminton, free-running, climbing and many cooperative games. After the sports session we always have a creative activity ready in our room—arts & crafts, baking/cooking or group games—children decide for themselves whether to join. Our core group accommodates up to 24 children; on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday we expand to 36 children in two core groups. We pick the children up from school and ensure a safe hand-over. During school holidays we are open from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. Parents receive daily updates and photos through the KidsKonnect parent portal. As part of Kinderopvang Kiki, we value close cooperation with parents. We align our guidance as much as possible with upbringing at home and hold regular parent meetings. All our staff hold at least an SPW-3 qualification and a valid Certificate of Good Conduct, guaranteeing a safe, sporty and homely place where children leave with a smile.
