Sport-BSO

Sport-BSO is the after-school care for all fidgety and sporty kids aged seven and up in Schoonhoven. We are located on the grounds of football club Schoonhoven at Nieuwe Singel 41, giving us access to all the pitches plus the clubhouse – including changing rooms. A perfect spot for an active afternoon after a day in the classroom! Our pedagogical staff pick the children up from school by bike, either under supervision or independently. Once they arrive, a challenging activity programme awaits. Rugby, (field) hockey, football and baseball are favourites, as well as Live Stratego in Springerpark. We always take the weather and season into account. When it gets dark early, the field lights go on. In winter there is still plenty of play and sport – we can use all the pitches. If there is snow, temperatures drop below -5 °C, or rise above 25 °C, we are not allowed on the artificial turf. A little rain won’t stop us… But when the weather really prevents outdoor sports, our staff create an engaging indoor activity programme. The group room is stocked with a games console, craft materials, board games and reading material. So even if you’re not in the mood to sport one day, you’ll still have a great time. We’ve never been bored yet! Children are always invited to help plan and decide on organised activities. Every week we play football, hockey, do archery, ball games and other sports and games. According to our staff, the children who come to Sport-BSO are mainly enthusiastic about sport and play activities. Parents can use our parent app KOS to receive personal photos and messages, literally getting a glimpse of the adventures their child experiences with us. The app also makes it easy to view and change information. Our golden tip: you can combine Sport-BSO days with care days at another BSO group, such as Villa Eigen-Wijs in Noord or Villa Waterviolier in Schoonhoven Oost. In 2024, no disputes were submitted to the Childcare Disputes Committee about our organisation or locations – a great achievement we are proud of!
