Eigen&Wijzer BSO De Zuiderzon

Eigen&Wijzer BSO De Zuiderzon is located at Anjerlaan 1 in De Kwakel, on the ground floor of primary school De Zon. We provide after-school care for up to 22 children aged 4 to 8. After classes, the children walk straight from their classroom to our bright, spacious BSO room, giving parents one central pick-up point for both school and care. Our pedagogical staff welcome every child with a healthy snack and drink. Children then decide for themselves how they want to spend the afternoon. The arts-and-crafts corner is stocked with aprons, paper, paint, clay and recycled materials for creative minds. The building corner overflows with LEGO, Duplo, Kapla and wooden train sets. Those who prefer a quiet start can curl up in the reading corner with cushions, blankets and a varied library of picture books, read-aloud stories and first readers. Board-game fans can choose from memory, domino, gooseboard and strategic games that we select together with the children. Daily physical activity is part of our routine. In good weather we head straight outside to the large, green playground with climbing frames, swings, a sandpit and plenty of space for tag, football or hide-and-seek. When the weather is poor we use the school gym for games such as dodgeball, dance and movement activities or an obstacle course. We work closely with De Zon primary school. Teachers and pedagogical staff share information about each child’s development so that we can tailor activities and guidance accordingly. At the end of the afternoon parents receive a brief update on how the day went. Together we create a familiar, safe environment where children can relax, make friends and discover new things after a long school day.
