SKSG Waterrijk

Welcome to SKSG Waterrijk, the after-school care centre in the Reitdiep district on the edge of Groningen. We are located in the modern multifunctional centre De Rietwierde, just a short walk from primary schools De Meander and De Rietzee. From these schools, children can walk to our BSO together with their friends. Our motto is: feel at home. After a busy day at school, we want children to be able to relax completely. That is why we create an atmosphere of ‘no obligations and anything goes’. Lounging on the sofa, hanging out in a beanbag or playing a game together – it is all possible. We offer 135 places and are open from 07:30 to 18:00. During holidays and study days we are open all day, so parents can always rely on us. Our activities are varied and challenging. We work with a theme calendar based on five pillars: science & technology, food & health, nature & sustainability, sports & exercise and art & culture. In our technology room, children can experiment, while the paint studio offers space for creative expression. We have a stage for performances, home, reading and discovery corners, a media corner and a construction corner. For the 8+ age group we organise special activities that match their interests and development. Sport and exercise are important to us. When the weather is nice, we go outside for live Stratego or Geocaching. When the weather is less favourable, we use the gym for breakdance or graffiti workshops. We believe that children get the best out of themselves when they are given the space to discover and play. Our pedagogical staff are ready to give each child personal attention. We work from a safe and familiar pedagogical basis, where every child can be themselves. At SKSG Waterrijk we combine childcare with development, so that children come back with pleasure.
